Department of Civil Engineering organizes seminar on “"Systematic Water Quality Assessment and an Appropriate Nano-enabled Treatment Solution for Low-income U.S. Communities"
On Tuesday, 11th June 2019, a seminar on "Systematic Water Quality Assessment and an Appropriate Nano-enabled Treatment Solution for Low-income U.S. Communities" was held at the Department of Civil Engineering of University of Asia Pacific. Dr. Navid Saleh, Associate Professor, Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering, The University of Texas at Austin, USA, was the guest speaker.
He shared his ongoing research on the probable adverse effect on water quality of Alaskan native communities due to global climate change. He also briefly presented inorganic and microbiological water quality in low-income communities of Texas commonly known as"colonias". Finally, the talk ended with a novel point-of-use treatment technology for disinfection that utilizes locally available materials and American Indian pottery.
